The Republic of Bulgaria has applied for financing in the amount of 80.84 million euro from the World Bank toward the cost of the Municipal Infrastructure project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Bulgaria.

The project will include the following components:

Component 1: Project implementation support to carry out activities under Component 3 of the project and completion of project audit. The activities will include preparation of feasibility studies for the dams to be financed under Component 3, update of engineering designs and preparation of bidding documents for works contract to complete the respective dams, Construction Supervision.

Component 2: Technical Assistance to prepare regional Masters Plans for water supply and sewerage to cover 48 water and wastewater utilities.

Component 3: Completion of three dams for water supply (Luda Yana, Plovdivtsi, and Neikovtsi), for which works had started earlier, and rehabilitation of the Studena dam.

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (current edition).
